Beautiful Grand Teton Elopement
What do you get when when of your favorite couples is also one of your favorite elopements? Chloe and Matt’s beautiful elopement in the Grand Tetons of course! It’s no secret the way we the way we operate. For years now, we’ve been connecting with hundreds of amazing couples from all across the country and with almost every single one of them we feel like we could be pretty good friends. Matt and Chloe were very much our kindred spirits and the only thing we’re bummed about when it comes to these beautiful souls is how far away they live. We knew it was going to be an instant connection when Chloe asked a very specific question during our initial phone call. I won’t get into the details on the question too much because it is a polarizing subject, but instantly after she asked it, Jenny and I looked at each other and laughed out loud. It was very much the ‘Step Brothers’ “did we just become best friends?” moment and essentially the beginning of what we like to consider our friendship with these two. Given the content of her question and the way in which she asked it, we knew they were a couple that we were going to have an absolute blast with when it came to their special day. In a society where people are becoming more and more offended by everything imaginable or afraid to express an opinion, we realize the amount of backbone it took to ask the personal question that she did and for that, we will always respect and love Chloe & Matt for being true to themselves and sticking with their vision. After all, that’s what elopements are all about right?
Over the next few months, we connected several times with Chloe and Matt to further solidify their vision and make sure everything was planned out to a T. Although there was a little uncertainty at one point with the state of affairs surrounding elopements in The Grand Teton National Park, ultimately it all ended up working out perfectly for their wedding! We started off with Matt and Chloe in Victor, ID at their Airbnb for a little first look action and as it oftentimes does, our ‘photographer ADD’ kicked in on the way over the pass from Driggs to Jackson Hole. The lighting and views were breathtaking as we made our way over the pass so the first chance we had, we hit a pull out. With the incoming weather, we had it in the back of our minds that we may need to hit a few spots to find some clear views and this was a spot we had our eyes on for a while. As expected, these two crushed it and soon after we were back in our cars to head back to the park. As we got closer, the weather was looking more and more grim. When we finally arrived at the trailhead for their ceremony location, it wasn’t looking good. Based on the radar it was hard to tell if it was going to pass. After talking to Matt and Chloe and the officiant, they decided if they had made it this far, they weren’t going to let a little rain ruin their moment. Wouldn’t you know, just moments into their ceremony beginning, the sky started to slowly clear! As an added bonus, we think the weather scared away most of the crowds because we ended up having the place all to ourselves! A little sunset hike to one of the most scenic locations in the park and the rest is history. Matt and Chloe were the embodiment of lovers, soul mates, and best friends. It was a day we won’t soon forget, and one we’re sure you’ll enjoy following along on!
